Yes it‘s been a while ....
Due to a, "perfect storm" set of circumstances over which we had no control.
Firstly, On behalf of Antique Arms Canterbury Branch, I would like to offer our condolences to Bruce Adams, after the passing of his wife Val. Organisations rely upon the efforts and dedication of individuals, Val was involved in shooting at many levels and was a life member of Hand loaders. Bruce, I offer my very deepest personal, condolences.....
With our major event of the year in the form of the September Auction not too far away, and hosting the Half yearly meeting, I have asked some of the committee members to bring us up to speed with things.
From my perspective as Auction convener things are well in hand and underway.
We have had a great response from our members and have managed to take on some of the extra items Wellington branch were over burdened with.
In an effort to assemble items that are of a $50 reserve, the auction committee has had to be objective in their decision making. To accommodate those members with items of a slightly lesser reserve I have suggested that we have a "Silent Auction". This will also allow members to submit items outside of the catalogued auction cut off but give them the benefit of an advertised, and catalogued event. These items will have to be with the auction convener no later than September the 10th. Please contact me if you have items you would like to submit.
The silent auction will run from 9:00am through to 12:00 mid day.
From there the main auction will commence at 12:30pm.
Those of you wanting to put items on display please contact John Honeybone, as his is putting on a display as well as coordinating member displays. The Canterbury Branch of Antique Arms has a proud history of assembling world-class displays. By using this great opportunity to contribute you are continuing that great tradition.
